Have you ever gone back to a meeting out of curiosity?

just wondering if anyone has gone back to a meeting out of curiosity?

(perhaps to an area far from your old khall where you know no one).

with all the changes from 2012 onwards (videos, tv screens, new meeting format, new songs etc) it would be an odd experience to be in attendance!.

i remember a very funny incident.

i hadnt been near a kh for several years. i had recently re-married and my new wife was a bit curious about the cult--she had tried a study a few years before she met me.

anyway--there was a circuit assembly where we lived--and she wanted to go! so we went to the public talk--only prob--we went at 3:30--it had begun at 3. felt a bit silly walking in half way through--i knew i would be recognised..

after about 5 minutes she said to me--" is this it?--isnt there a service or hymns ?" i quietly explained it...so she decided she had had enough--and up she got! i sheepishly followed her out..

some years later--one of her nephews was getting married in a KH--dunno how--very luke warm family. we were invited--and went L.O.L. that was over 20 years ago. never been since.

Another Aspect from which to View Prostitution

if we put on our western cultural (you know, the ones that say jesus made the world) eye-glasses we will 'see' prostitution as something bad.. the 'christian' influenced view is that prostitution is a criminal racket run by gangsters, and the women (and sometimes men) have either been bullied by their pimps, or drugged until they become addicts and forced to work in brothels.**.

some of that is likely true (at times), but is it always 'truth'?.

australia's government owned abc media network, has an article that invites us to take off our western cultural eye-glasses and see the world as it really is.

ive never used the services of a prostitute,---simply because ive never met one--or know any.. ive dated loads of women. some have cost a lot of money in wining and dining--all for nothing. some have had sex with me for free--just for the asking.

would i have used a prostitute--? course i would--if she was attractive and i had the money to spend.

Pillowgate: a heterosexual male's review

my first impressions watching it, coming from a heterosexual male, was that it was just plain ridiculous (big surprise, i know), but i just want to share some thoughts as to why.. regarding the hypothetical scenario of two guys asking each other if they've ever woken up with an erection and other stuff like that: no, that would not arouse me.

i'm talking with a male, which i'm not sexually attracted to, and assuming he's a friend, it's just a casual conversation that i'm mature enough to handle.

the only way this is flirting (and then only maybe) is if one of us is gay.

my born in first wife was keen and willing--used to give me a quickie if i agreed to go to the public talk ( this was after i had resigned ).

she divorced me after i started an affaire with a married sister in the same congregation. ( bad form i know ) suddenly my sex life went into top gear--fantastic. but the affaire faded after a year--that was that.

now--35 years later---after numerous one nighters, flings, 2 more wives...i'm almost 70 with my 4th wife who is 23 years younger.. we are at it like rabbits--most days--anytime-anyplace. anything goes.. she never had good sex before--and is making up for lost time. its my only form of exercise.. if i die soon i will have a huge silly grin on my face.
